How
To Prevent Lawn Fertilizer Burn
Every year thousands
of people put fertilizer on their yard,
in hopes of making their grass look
plush and green. Sometimes however,
fertilizer can seem to do more harm than
good on a yard. If you want to use
fertilizer and not cause lawn fertilizer
burn, the following tips will be useful.
The first thing you should do is make
sure you are fertilizing at the proper
time. Wait until you have mowed a few
times before you fertilize. Also be sure
you are using the right type of
fertilizer or organic fertilizer for
your specific grass type.
When you are ready to spread the
fertilizer, be sure to use a spreader.
You should never apply the organic
fertilizer or commercial fertilizer more
than once at a time. If you over feed
the lawn you might end up with
fertilizer burn on your lawn.
Also be careful of where you store your
fertilizer. If the fertilizer spills
onto the lawn, unexpectedly, you might
have fertilizer burn. If a spill does
occur, be sure to wash down the area
with water as quickly as possible. This
will help the damage stay minimal.
If you do these things and follow these
helpful tips, fertilizer burn should not
be a problem. Organic fertilizer or
commercial fertilizer can both be
dangerous however, so use them exactly
as directed. Remember that some
fertilizers will break down faster as
well, so you might not need to reapply
them as often as you would others.
